DemoPlayer is an easy to use utility that plays back quake or quake2 demos
without having to type any commandline options or other hassles.

DemoPlayer is SHAREWARE, you may use this software for a period of 30 days
without registering it. After the 30 days if you continue to use DemoPlayer
you must pay for it and register, or remove DemoPlayer from your computer.
(Besides it's only $5.00 ! =)

As a registered user you will get free tech support and free upgrades for a
year. Visit http://www.clandig.com/~dls/ for more information on ordering
and other products.

Setup
------
If you downloaded the zip file simply extract all the files into a temporary
directory then run setup.exe
If you have the disk version place disk1 into the floppy drive
and run the setup program.

The install program will ask you where you want to install DemoPlayer. You
can either leave the default /Program Files/DemoPlayer/ or you can install it
into any directory you choose.
Setup will then copy all nessesary files to your hard drive and place a
program icon on your start menu.

Setting up DemoPlayer
---------------------
The first time you run DemoPlayer it will ask you which games you want to
play demos from. Check Quake and/or Quake2. DemoPlayer will then search your
Hard drive for those games. If you have more than 1 copy of the game you
will be asked if you want to use that copy.
If you didnt set up for a game and at a later date you want to, just press
the search button and DemoPlayer will search and setup for whicever
game was not installed.

Playing a demo
--------------
When DemoPlayer first starts up it will display the demo directory for
the game that it selected. Just select the demo you want to run and press
the launch button or double click on the filename.

With DemoPlayer, demos do not have to be in the demo directory to work. You
can select a demo from any location (including mapped drives) and the
demo will run. After the demo ends just type quit in the quake or quake2
console and you will return to windows.

When you exit DemoPlayer it remembers the last game and
directory you were in and will start you there next time it starts up.

support@clandig.com
Please include the program name and version number, the error message and
number (if applicable).
Support can not an will not help with problems relating to Quake or Quake2.

Bug Fixes and improvments from v 1.0
-------------------------------------
- fixed bug that halted program with an empty CD rom drive during search.
- added new graphics
- added a search button to the main screen for not yet installed games.
- added new start up screen during first run.
- when selecting a game that is not installed the program asks if you want
to do the search first. v 1.0 would just do the search.

Plans for version 2.0
----------------------
- add the ability to search the drives for demos and place them in a central
  directory.
- Support for quake3 and (hopefully) duke forever.
