Weapons Factory Sniper Scope Pak
version .9
(beta)

About:

This scope pak has a few models I stole from Action Quake, but I'm not making money off of them, or claiming that I made them, so I'm not breaking any copywrites. I just like the AQ2 sniper rifle better.. The scope is similar to the Action quake scope, but that I made from scratch. It will look slightly different on different resolutions, and graphics cards, or on software. It is zeroed *exactly* for sniping on 2fort7wf, from loft to loft shooting. It is off slightly at different ranges, but is much closer than the Q2 crosshairs, and the slight difference can be negligable, due to the radius of damage of a shot. To make sure, take a zeroing shot from your sniping spot, at a wall about where you'll expect to be sniping people. You'll see the ricochet, and can adjust yourself accordingly.

Using:

Important: Upon unzipping in your WF folder, rename the pakx.pak file, by changing the x to a number (higher than 5, the number of the WF pak file) that isn't used by another pak. Also, keep it below the number 9, so that new WF beta's can override it.
To use the scope, put in your autoexec.cfg, or in your sniper.cfg file, the following information.
set "zoomkey" "<key>"
set "unzoom" "<key>"
exec zoom.cfg
It's important to keep the quotation marks.
Replace <key> with whatever key you wish to bind. The zoomkey will zoom you from normal view, to 2x, and then to 4x, and back to normal. (Advanced users: The "normal" FOV will be whatever it was set to when zoom.cfg was execed. Same with the sensitivity.)

Crosshairs:

In order to use this, this scope takes over your first two crosshairs. (Q2 doesn't allow more than 3.. I tried to work on it, but to do more required coding, and this is a client side scope) If you wish to use something other than the Q2 angle crosshair, change your desired crosshair to "ch3.pcx" and it will be your normal view crosshair. Also, the scope is zeroed for a right handed rifle. If you prefer left, or center handed, I can give you a cfg with commands that will have the rifle on the right, but appear to be on the left, or in the center (or not on the screen.) The rifle will still fire from the right though. Just write me, and I'll try to get the file to you.

Author:

The models were done by the Action Quake team (http://action.telefragged.com/), while the scripting, setup, documentation and distribution were all by ReconN. (reconn@captured.com)

Feel free to distribute this pak, as long as you include this documentation. If you wish to post the pak on a web page or allow it for download anywhere, drop a line to me, ReconN, I'd like to know about it.

Suggestions:

If you have suggestions, complaints about the scope pak, tell me. This is only a beta release, so I'd gladly read your input. Just try to make the mails as literate as possible. ;)
