Story
Faced with a standooff the Marines and the Stroggs decide to settle the matter in the American way, Football (the way it was meant to be played)!  Using a head from one of the many victims of the battle, the Marines and the Strogg battle it out on the field.

Maps
This mod was written to use any Q2CTF map.  It is not shipped with any maps, so you'll have to get some CTF maps.  Any map should work.  All of the textures from Q2CTF are in the pak file (up to version 1.5).

The entire Q2CTF team.  I started this mod from the ctf mod and pak.  I was only able to write it due to the great programming that was already there.

Requirements:
Q2 version 3.2 (if you don't have it get it)

Install:
Create a directory under your quake2 directory called 'qfl'.
Copy the gamex86.dll and the pak0.pak file into it.

Distribution:
This mod can be distributed as long as this readme is present.

Dev Time:
Around a week.

To play:
Create a shortcut for QFL:
c:\quake2\quake2.exe +set game qfl

Game:
The ball always starts at the Marine endzone.  When the ball is at the endzone, only the base team can pick it up.  When the ball is in the field, anyone can pick it up.  After a team scores, (by bringing to the other teams endzone) it will restart at the defenders endzone.

You always respawn at your endzone.

The ball carrier is very obviously marked.

Scoring
Player:
Scoring a touchdown:		8
Coast to Coast			10 (returning the ball the entire length of the field)
Recovering a fumble		1
Tackling the ball carrier		2
Blocking for the carrier		1
Assisting a touchdown		1

Team:
Touchdown			7
Coast to Coast			8

Commands:
pass football - bind this command to throw the ball.
Examples:
go to the console and type 
'bind e pass football' or 'bind mouse2 pass football'

Notes:
This is my first mod, so there are bound to be bugs.  I've only been able to test it minimally.  I really would appreciate any models that would make this game look at little more like demented football.  Any pics sent for the HUD would be appreciated as well.  I'll give you credit if I use them.

Updates:

Version 1.1
Added passing, bind a key to 'pass football' to throw the ball to a teammate, the ball can be intercepted, so watch out.  Also added a timeout in case the ball can't be reached.  You have about 30 seconds to pick up a loose ball or it will respawn at the last endzone.  The ball will respawn at the last endzone after about ten seconds if it is dropped or thrown into lava.  (Could be a strategy if you are about to die, throw the ball out of bounds)
