The WAR Mod offers quite a different teamplay experience in Quake2. Players
are divided into teams, each being able to choose their own class. Each
class has its own weapons, speed and ammo-carrying abilities.

                                Classes                                   

When you join a server or the map is changed, each player becomes a Spectator
and a menu appears on your screen where you choose your team and class. You
can also change your team and class during the game. Most of all classes have
the base weapon - machinegun AK-74.

				  SOLDIER

This is the base class of the mod. Good for any offense and defense roles.
The RL isn't a very precise weapon so it is best fired at groups of enemies
using the machinegun to clean up.

He carries the machinegun (AK-74) and the Rocket Launcher.
Bullets: 150 (in 5 clips)
Rockets: 5
HandGrenades: 5

				  GUNNER

Gunners are good for the last (close to the flag) and the first (close to
the entry/exit) line of defence (LOD). They aren't that mobile because of their
chaingun. When attacking they have to stay at a quiet place and fire,
defending their teammates.

He has just got the heavy chaingun.
Bullets: 400
HandGrenades: 5

				  MINER

This class is also good for many offensive and defensive roles. They can lay
mines which explodes when enemies, not teammates, touch it. The total number
of mines for each team is limited by the server variable sv
He has got a Grenade Launcher.
Mines: 5
Grenades: 10

				 SUPPORTER

Supporters must run support by carrying ammo and health to his teammates when
they are attacking or defending, but if need be, they've got the trusty
Shotgun.

Bullets: 1000(!)
Grenades: 50
Mines: 10
Shells: 100

				 SNIPER

He *must* be used for base defense - Snipers are the main defensive class
in the game. They are the First LOD for your base. Station them in areas of
good cover with long sight lines.

He carry the sniper rifle.
Bullets: 50
Grenades: 5

				COMMANDER

This class is used to coordinate actions of their teammates. Max. count of
Commanders per team = 1. He has a radar which shows the positions of all
the players. (Red dots - red team players, Blue dots - blue team players).
This isn't a powerful class for offense or defense, but he does carry a
pretty powerful Pistol.

Bullets: 20(4 clips)


				 RECON

This class is still under development and testing - it's best not to use him.
Though the Commanders have radars, they only know the positions of players,
not their classes. Recons can get this information to his Commander by changing
skin to the enemy team's skin. Also Recon can be quite effective because he
has a knife[ and a quiet pistol] for quick, silent kills.

Bullets: 10(2 clips)

			       ARTILLERIST

Their main ability is to build guardguns - it can be used for attack and
outer-fort defence. This turret is semi-automatic -- it automatically
reloads(if it has rockets/grenades, of course) but the Artillerist must
move and fire it. This can only be done over a short distance because the
control is by radio. For best results you can use these binds:
Move Left/Right: bind D "guardgun rotate left" / bind F "guardgun rotate right"
Move Forward: bind E "guardgun move"
[Move barrel to Left/Right: bind A "guardgun aiming left" / bind S "guardgun aiming right"]
Move barrel Up/Down: bind Q "guardgun aiming up" / bind Z "guardgun aiming down"
Change modes: bind M "guardgun mode"
Fire: bind C "guardgun fire"
The system of binds isn't easy but after some time you will control
the guardgun perfectly!

Artillerist has the shotgun.
Shells: 50(5 clips)
Rockets: 10
Grenades: 20

team red:       Change your team to red
team blue:      Change your team to blue

flashlight:     Turn the flashlight (MagLite) on and off
autozoom:       Switches the autozoom mode (only Sniper's ability)
autofire:       Switches the autofire mode (only Sniper's ability)
guardgun:       Build guardgun(only Artillerist's ability)
guardgun help:  All commands related to guardgun
