1. What is Keyboard Plus ?
--------------------------

Keyboard plus provides extensive macro support for OS/2 Warp. It allows
you to:
   * Insert pieces of text by pressing a hotkey, including the current
date or time, or the output from a program.
   * Run programs or switch to them by pressing a hotkey
   * Make use of the Windows 95 keys on your keyboard
   * Define accelerator keys for applications which lack them

Keyboard Plus is (C) John Fairhurst <john_fairhurst@iname.com> and is
free for distribution and use. For at least the first half of 1999, more
information will be available from http://thor.cam.ac.uk/~mjf35/kbdplus/.

It still doesn't work in DOS & Win-OS/2 sessions, and for best results
should be run under Warp 4.

2. Installation
---------------

Change to the directory where the unzipped contents of kbdplus.zip are,
and type 'install'.
To uninstall, delete the directory where you installed Keyboard Plus
and its contents. Keyboard Plus makes no changes to system configuration
files.

3. Upgrading from a previous version
------------------------------------

The install program will allow you to perform an upgrade, preserving
any macros and macrosets you have previously created. The installation
process will create a new macroset demonstrating new features.
Just to be on the safe side, you may wish to take a copy of the
'macros.dat' file in your existing Keyboard Plus directory.

It is possible you will hit an error involving MacroHk.dll. In this
case, you need to reboot & not run your old version of Keyboard Plus
before restarting the installation.

It is possible to run both Keyboard Plus 1.2 and a previous version on
the same system (though not at the same time) -- select 'fresh install' in
the installer and choose a directory to install in different to your
existing installation.

4. Other things
---------------

Extensive help and documentation is provided through PM's on-line help
system. An introductory page will be shown when you first run the program,
and there is a short tutorial available.

Keyboard Plus is shipped with some sample macros set up -- feel free to
delete them.

Extensive testing has not been performed under Warp 3: the program should
run and mostly work, but Win95 keys in particular are unlikely to function.
