CWMM Configuration
==================

- About.

"CWMM Configuration" is a simple PM application that lets you to modify
some "hidden features" of the CWMM (Chris Wohlgemuth Multimedia) Classes in
a simple way.

- Version.

	Current version is 0.1.

- Requirements.

OS/2 (the only 'half Operating System' :).
	REXX support.
	Chris Wohlgemuth Multimedia Classes:
		Version 0.2.2 for Media Folder.
Version 0.2.4 for other multimedia classes.
VERY IMPORTANT: CWMM Configuration IS ONLY FOR THIS VERSIONS!
		Look at Netlabs:
		http://www.netlabs.org
		or at Chris web pages:
		http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Sector/5785/
		http://www.os2world.com/cdwriting
	Optionally:
'fastini.dll' (by Dennis Bareis) for a faster access to INI files.

- Installation.

Copy the files were you like and execute 'cwmmcfg.exe'. Optionally, make
a program object for this program (OBJECTID suggested: <CWMMCFG>; Object hint
suggested for WPS-Wizard users: "You can configure your multimedia clases
with this object").
If you have 'makewpi.cmd' (included in WPI Tools) execute it!

- Use.

Please, read the "Programming tutorial for Multimedia classes".

- Disclaimer.

This program is unsuported software and I'm not responsible of the damages
that this software can do in your computer.

Chris Wohlgemuth ISN'T RESPONSIBLE OF THIS PROGRAM.

- Personal note.

IMHO, the OS/2 original multimedia system is too old and ugly. But some
people is working to improve it in diferent ways: enhancing the data transfer
(John Gow); adding new device drives for DOS compatibility (Martin Kiewitz);
adding new or correcting old procedures, codecs and devices (Russell O'Connor,
Darwin O'Connor and Chris Wohlgemuth) and changing the multimedia clases (Chris
Wohlgemuth).
The mencionated released software is GREAT (not perfect, but great anyway)
and the not released (Gow and Kiewitz) sounds very good. But there are several
problems in the mutimedia system yet: we need a new installer (perhaps working
as helper application of WarpIN); we need the capability of play two sounds at
the same time (well, only me needs that); we need not hardcoded extensions and
associations in the multimedia classes (old image classes and all new Chris
classes have hardcoded extensions; and old multimedia classes have hardcoded
associations -this can be override by 'setdefv.cmd'-)...
Unfortunatly "I'm not a programmer, only a restless user", and my
contributions to correct this things are VERY small. But a little is better
than nothing.

PS: SORRY FOR MY VERY BAD ENGLISH.
