1.0 Installation Instructions

The downloadable file in this package is a self-extracting ZIP
file containing the OS/2 Warp NDIS2 device driver ( IBMTRP.OS2 ) and its associated files

1. Download the self-extracting ZIP file os2ndisp.exe to the drive and directory of your choice.
2. Execute os2ndisp.exe from a command prompt to unzip the file. A path can be specified after
the self-extracting zip file name in order to expand the zip file to a location other than the current directory (example: os2ndisp x:\<path> - where x is a drive letter). If a path is not specified, the self-extracting zip file will be unzipp
ed into the current directory. Refer to the directory structure in the Additional Information section for details on the subdirectory structure the self-extracting zip file will create.
3. After unzipping the file, refer to the appropriate User's Guide for your adapter (IBM Token-Ring PCI Family Adapter User's Guide, one of the IBM Token-Ring PCI Management Adapter User's Guides, or the IBM 16/4 Token-Ring CardBus Adapter
User's Guide) for complete instructions for installing the device driver.

Co-requisites:
IMPORTANT: If using the IBM 16/4 Token-Ring CardBus Adapter, make certain that the OS/2 Point
Enabler CB_PEOS2.SYS is also installed in addition to the device driver IBMTRP.OS2. For details,
refer to Chapter 4: Point enablers and Card and Socket Services in the IbM 16/4 Token-Ring CardBus Adapter User's Guide.

3.0 Change History

Fixes in this Package:

3.1 IBMTRP.OS2 Version 2.04a contains the following fixes and enhancements over the previously released version, version 2.04:

       Fixes

*Updated OS/2 point enabler for IBM 16/4 Token-Ring CardBus Adapter (
CB_PEOS2.SYS ) to add support for the entire IBM ThinkPad 600 series and IBM
ThinkPad T20. The initial release of this point enabler supported only the IBM
ThinkPad 600. This update applies only to the IBM 16/4 Token-Ring CardBus
Adapter and is NOT required for any of the supported IBM token-ring PCI
adapters. No other files comprising this device driver package have been
              updated.

June 20, 2000 - Added support for the IBM High-Speed 100/16/4 Token-Ring PCI Management Adapter.
                No code changes made.

3.2 Changes in 2.04 from the previous version (2.02)

       Fixes
*Fix to correct adapter initialization time problem when operating in a multiple adapter
          configuration.

       Enhancements
*Support for the "IBM 16/4 Token-Ring CardBus Adapter" and the "IBM 16/4
          Token-Ring PCI Management Adapter" added.

3.3 Changes in 2.02 from the previous version (2.00)

IBMTRP.OS2 Version 2.02 contains the following fixes and enhancements over the previously
       released version, version 2.00:

       Fixes
*Fixes hang during initialization on 450 MHz and faster processors
*Fixes hang during initialization when there is no PCI token-ring adapter in the
          machine
*Contains the fix to allow Route Switching Client mode to operate correctly with the
latest version of microcode for 8210 MSS

3.4 Changes in 2.00 from the previous version (1.25)

IBMTRP.OS2 Version 2.00 contains the following fixes and enhancements over the previously
       released version, version 1.25:

       Fixes
*Fixed open failures on high-speed processors
*Fixed problem where device driver would display error message:
LA10044: The NDIS 2.0 protocol manager could not be opened.

in an infinite loop if the protocol manager was inadvertently removed from the network
configuration (by manually editing either PROTOCOL.INI or CONFIG.SYS)
*Fixed symptoms such as lost sessions and inability of drive mappings to complete if
RcvBuffSize was set to a value much smaller than MaxTxFrameSize

       Enhancements
*Improved Route Switching support (added Peer and Auto modes)
*Added support for Class of Service over IP
         *Added support for 100Mbps adapter
