How To Synchronize UniMaint And The Workplace Shell

There are times when certain kinds of problems with the WPS or with
UniMaint can result in a situation where the UniMaint WPS Agent Object
will not initialize correctly. This problem can normally be fixed using
the AcsTest utility program and, if it cannot be fixed, the same
program can document the problem.

If you get an error that indicates a problem with the WPS such as
message box referring you to this file or a logic error that is in the
10xxx range, then you should do the following:

1. Run the AcsTest program with -Z on the parameter line. The -Z
parameter will cause the AcsTest program to force the destruction of
all of the WPS Agent Objects and shared data areas and it will
Deregister the WPS Class. It is very possible this run will get an
error, but it can be ignored.

 AcsTest.EXE -Z

2. Run AcsTest with no paramters. If this run succeeds, then please try
the UniMaint function again.

3. If the AcsTest in 2 above does not work or the UniMaint function
does not work, then run AcsTest in diagnostic mode with the following
command line;

 AcsTest.EXE -Lacstest.log -Dacstest.dia -Aacstest.agt

The run above will create the three acstest.log/dia/agt files in the
default directory. If you do not want them in the default directory,
then you can include path information between the -L/-D/-A and the
filename. However, blanks are not allowed.

It is possible that the acstest.agt file will not get created.

Please zip the above logs into a single file and email to jread@gte.net
with a description of how you created the problem.
