1. What is the GOSMV package for ?
===================================

GOSMV provides a GoServe filter script for automatic support of
multiple languages transparently by using the browsers language
preferences. This is similar to a part of the Apache MultiView
feature and implements the so-called content negotiation between
web browser and web server for a specific variant (here: language
variant) of a document.

This filter script is derived out of the original filter script
goserve.80 of the GoServe 2.52 package (1998/09/19) by me.

Download the GoServe server package from
- the GoServe homepage
  http://www2.hursley.ibm.com/goserve/

For more information about Apache MultiViews see

- Apache documentation about content negotiation

2. Install and use GOSMV
========================

The package comes with the following files

readme - you are reading this file
file_id.diz   - package description file
goserve.80 - the GOSMV filter script

In order to install this package copy the included file goserve.80 to
your GoServe directory and modify the variables in the configuration
section to your needs.

3. Prerequisites/Restrictions/Limitations
=========================================

This package requires
- OS/2 WARP 3 or later
- GoServe installed and running
- a browser to test the MultiView function

4. Freeware license
===================

This software package is freeware.
It can be used wherever you use any OS/2 version in conjunction with
the GoServe web server.

You are allowed to freely use and distribute GOSMV as long as

 -  GOSMV is not sold as a part of another program package;
 - no fee is charged for the program other than for cost of
    media;
 - the complete package is distributed unmodified in the
    original and unmodified zip file;
 - you send me some e-mail telling me how you liked it (or
    didn't like it), and/or your suggestions for enhancements.

If GOSMV is widely used within companies and thus supports
these companies earning money, I would greatly appreciate a
donation, that would support me in continuing the development
GOSMV and other useful OS/2 utilities (see my homepage).
