Description :An army of aliens has overtaken a Hollywood
post-production facility. They are converting the
audio and video studios to fit their own purpose.
i.e To spew an endless stream of pornography and
nonsense into the homes of humans via their
television sets. As the last surviving employee,
you have one mission: To get the hell out!

This custom Duke Nukem 3D Map is based on the
actual Post Logic Studios located in Hollywood, CA.

Additional Credits to :Ko Maruyama for his great help designing many of
                         the textures.

* Installation and Usage *

To install this custom Duke Nukem 3D level, copy the files PL.MAP
and TILES014.ART into your Duke3d directory. If you already have
a TILES014.ART file in this directory, you should be sure and back it
up first. To run the level, from the DOS prompt start Duke Nukem by
typing:

DUKE3D -MAP PL

This will start the game and take you directly into the Post Logic
level. To use this custom level you must be running a full registered
version of Duke Nukem 3D. This level has been tested with versions
1.3D and version 5.1 (the Plutonium Pak with update patch).
Because of its complexity, this level requires a fast computer. It was
tested on a Pentium 166 with 32 megs of RAM and ran quite well. I also
tested it on a 486/66 with 8 megs of RAM and it would barely run at all,
unless monsters were turned OFF. This might make it usable for Dukematching,
even on slower systems. To run the level without monsters, simply add /m to
the DOS command string mentioned above.

* Notes *

As I mentioned above, this Map is a rendition of the actual Post Logic
Studios in Hollywood, CA where I work as an audio mixer. If you need
any audio or video post production services, please don't hesitate to
give me a call at (213) 461-7887 and I'll be happy to give you a tour of the
REAL facility.

This Map actually began (as a very basic floorplan) as a Doom II WAD file.
I converted it to Heretic and then to Hexen and continued adding on to it,
but was never very happy because the textures and construction methods for
WAD files never even came close to what was required to really do it right.
Then when Duke came along I said "this is finally it." I had to convert the
level back into a DOOM II file in order to convert it into a MAP, and I had to
do some major work to correct the scale, but from then on it was just a
pleasure to Build.

I tried my best to render many parts of the level as accurately as possible
in relation to the real world location. The artwork you see hanging on
various walls are digiphotos of the real paintings, and several of the rooms
are very very close to their actual appearance. However, I also took a great
deal of creative liberty with other parts of the facility using the excuse,
"Aliens have converted these rooms for their own evil purposes." Actually,
I learned during the creation of this Map that doing an accurate rendition
of a real world location is not nearly as much fun as just using the
imagination. I have sensed from the online community that there is a general
dislike for Maps that are based on real places. I hope this file will
disprove that rule, as I think it turned out quite well. I am very anxious to
hear YOUR comments, positive or negative, so please drop me a note.
